Features
Key Highlights
Powerful 998 cc Liquid-Cooled, 4-Stroke In-Line Four
The Ninja ZX-10R’s engine balances stunning power with manageability. Positioning peak torque high up in the rpm range makes it easier for riders to get back on the gas, while a strong low-mid range further contributes to acceleration coming out of corners. Finger-follower valve actuation and other features based on feedback from Kawasaki’s WSBK factory team contribute to a lofty peak power, which can easily be augmented care of a full race exhaust.
Air-Cooled Oil Cooler
Based on feedback from Kawasaki’s WSBK race machine, the air-cooled oil cooler is a design often seen on high- performance models. Rather than routing coolant from the radiator to the oil cooler and back to the engine, it has an independent circuit. Oil is routed from the left lower crankcase to the oil cooler, where it is cooled, then returned on the right side. The increased cooling performance contributes to engine performance at all rpm.
Light-Handling Chassis
Complementing the highly acclaimed stability of the 2019 model, updates to the chassis geometry contribute to increased cornering performance and light handling.
High-Grade Showa Suspension
More circuit-focused settings for the WSBK-developed BFF (Balance Free Front Fork) and BFRC lite (Balance Free Rear Cushion) shock facilitate front-rear weight transfer and contribute to light handling.
High-Performance Brembo Brake System
Dual high-spec Brembo M50 monobloc calipers gripping large ø330 mm discs, and a specially prepared radial-pump master cylinder deliver next-level braking performance.
Next-Generation Ninja Styling
The aerodynamic racer-inspired front cowl, highlighted by compact LED headlights, new Ram Air intake and a taller windshield, is the “face” of the Ninja ZX-10R’s next-generation Ninja styling.
Integrated Winglets
Winglets built into the upper cowl generate downforce that helps keep the front wheel on the ground during strong acceleration.
Aerodynamic Riding Position
Updated handlebar and footpeg positions contribute to a more aggressive, circuit-focused riding position, while the seat design helps riders minimise drag when tucked behind the windshield going down the straight.
Kawasaki River Mark
In recognition of its achievement in the Superbike World Championship, special permission to use the River Mark on the Ninja ZX-10R was granted. This is its first use on a non-supercharged mass-production model.
Kawasaki Cornering Management Function
Using the latest evolution of this advanced modelling software and feedback from a compact IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit), KCMF monitors engine and chassis parameters throughout the corner – from entry, through the apex, to corner exit – modulating brake force and engine power to facilitate smooth transition from acceleration to braking and back again, and to assist riders in holding their intended line through the corner.
Sport-Kawasaki TRaction Control
S-KTRC, Kawasaki’s hybrid predictive/feedback-type traction control, helps riders push harder on the racetrack by maximising acceleration.
Kawasaki Intelligent anti-lock Brake System
KIBS, Kawasaki’s supersport-grade brake management system, uses high-precision control to regulate brake pressure during sport riding.
Control your Speed
The Kawasaki Engine Brake Control system allows riders to select the amount of engine braking they prefer.
Kawasaki Quick Shifter
Dual-direction KQS system allows both clutchless upshifts and downshifts, facilitating circuit riding.
Traction control and power delivery at the push of a button
All-inclusive modes that link S-KTRC (available in 5 modes) and Power Modes (in addition to Full Power, the Ninja ZX-10R offers Middle and Low modes) allow riders to efficiently set traction control and power delivery to suit a given riding situation.
Increased Riding Comfort
Kawasaki’s cruise control system allows a desired speed to be maintained with the simple press of a button. Once activated, the rider does not have to constantly apply the throttle. This reduces stress on the right hand when traveling long distances, enabling relaxed cruising and contributing to a high level of riding comfort.
Full-Colour TFT Instrumentation
The compact 4.3” all-digital TFT colour instrumentation gives the cockpit a high-tech, high-grade appearance. In addition to scrollable multi- function windows, two display modes offer riders a choice of how they want their information presented.
Connect with your ride
A Bluetooth chip built into the instrument panel enables riders to connect to their motorcycle wirelessly. Using the smartphone application “RIDEOLOGY THE APP*,” a number of instrument functions can be accessed, contributing to an enhanced motorcycling experience.
Öhlins Electronic Steering Damper
Unlike a mechanical steering damper – in which the settings, once fixed, must cover all riding conditions and speeds – the damping characteristics are changed electronically according to vehicle speed, and the degree of acceleration or deceleration.
